Yoga Mat

Does anyone have recommendations for how to choose a yoga mat?

I'm a beginning yoga student, but I'd like to continue and I need a basic mat I can use so I don't have to borrow during class, yuck! Does anyone know of a good mat that is inexpensive yet would be good for classes?

I would recommend you get an eco mat. These mats are recyclable, biodegradable, and made from natural rubber. No PVC, Plastic , or man made toxic materials. Lots of company's make them. They do cost a bit more but they last for years and they are eco friendly. I use Natural fitness yoga mats. Manduka and prana also have eco mats.
