What is the difference between womens and mens golf clubs?
The shaft of women's clubs, in addition to being shorter, are more flexible.
Reason: a woman has a slower clubhead speed, so she gets some 'assistance' from a more flexible shaft that gives the ball a little more help.
Men's clubs are stiffer, because the additional clubhead speed against a women's club would cause it to flex too much and cause them to be 'late'. Also, the more flexible shafts could be broken more easily by the harder/faster swings.
We could feel the difference -- I put my driver (1-wood) and his on the table side by side -- and pushed down on the center of the shaf, my ladies clubs definitely flexed more.
Juniors are the softest, womens, seniors, mens, and then extra-stiff professional level.
