Any athletic Christians here, how does the high of doing sport compare with elation from worship?
I had a Christian friend at University who remarked on his faith and the high of running. I wondered if anyone could give me a better slant on what he may have been talking about?
when i run, i feel as light as air. its fantastic! its like i can do anything. there is pain involved (im a distance runner), but its all worth it. the harsh training, the pain of the race...none of that matters in the end. The pure wonder and elation when you are done with the race is totally worth it. while you are running, the adrenaline rush you get as you pass someone...its amazing.
this is a lot like faith. on the journey to heaven, its fantastic! its like i can do anything. there is pain involved (sin, persecution, etc), but its all worth it. the harsh looks, the pain of being looked down upon...none of that matters in the end. the pure wonder and elation when you truely let Christ in is totally worth it. while you are praying, the joy you feel as you know you are forgiven...its amazing.
